The straight answer

Can HighLevel Websites Be Exported? The Full Answer

GoHighLevel published that exact question as a support article and answered No. Every word of it is accurate. It is also answering a narrower question than the one agencies are asking.

    The official answer

GoHighLevel's support article “Can HighLevel Websites Be Exported?” says No. In summary, it states that there is no supported export feature, that no 1:1 export exists, that HTML copied out manually is unsupported and cannot be edited in their builder, and that such a copy depends on the original GoHighLevel location remaining active. Its one suggested method is right-click, View Page Source.

    What that article gets right

All of it, as far as it goes. There is no export button. A copied page really is not editable in GHL's builder afterwards. Assets served from the platform really can stop resolving if the location goes away. Anyone selling you a “perfect one-click GHL export” is either describing the front end and calling it the site, or is wrong.

It is also worth noting GoHighLevel is not unusual here. Their own migration guide points out that Wix has no export either, and they offer a tool for moving WordPress sites into the platform. A one-way door is a normal design for a builder.

    The question it isn't answering

“Can it be exported?” and “does my client walk away with a working website?” are different questions. The first is about a feature. The second is about an outcome, and the outcome is achievable: the rendered front end can be pulled cleanly and republished on hosting the owner controls. It stops being a GoHighLevel site. That is the trade.

The rendered front end — pages, layout, copy, images, fontsYesComes out as a clean project you can host anywhere.
CRM records and contactsNoStay in GoHighLevel. Export them separately from inside the platform.
Workflows and automationsNoDo not come with the site. They have to be rebuilt on whatever you move to.
Form and survey backendsNoThe form markup comes across; the thing that receives a submission does not. It needs repointing at a new service.
Calendars, payments and checkoutNoPlatform features, not page content. Reconnect them to new providers.
Editing inside GHL's builder afterwardsNoAn exported site is edited as files, not in the builder it came from. GoHighLevel's own support article says the same.

    So: yes, with conditions

The honest answer to the question in the title is: not through GoHighLevel, and not as an editable GHL project — but yes, the website itself can leave, and it can be live somewhere else the same day. What cannot leave is everything that made it a platform rather than a website. Decide which of those you were actually buying.
